This weekend my parents move out of their house of 29 years to the area of Grants Pass, Oregon, which is a 400 miles closer at 7,147 miles. This may not seem right until you realize that the closest way from here to there is over the North Pole. Next question: what two inhabited places are the furthest apart (and how far)? I don’t know. I see that Jerusalem is 9,994 miles from Christchurch, New Zealand. And it’s 10,893 miles from Reykjavik, Iceland to Christchurch. Ok, back to work.
