I think this is awesome! There was something that stuck out in the article, however, and that is the really, really, really unconvincing criticism on the law.
“The bill would make it a crime for doctors to perform an abortion unless the procedure was necessary to save the woman’s life.”
“‘Obviously, we’re very disappointed that Governor Rounds has sided on the side of politics rather than on the side of the women of South Dakota to protect their health and safety,’ Looby said.”
Pro-life = politics and Planned Parenthood is apparently above politics? Making allowances for life-threatening complications is taking a stand against a woman’s health and safety? I guess I’d like to see how many abortions cause health and safety problems compared with the number of pregnancies carried full term that threaten “health and safety.” In the meantime her argument is nothing but rhetoric to protect her own political (and dare I say financial?) interests and I hope South Dakota’s voters can see through it if they are given the chance to vote on this law.
Mississippi is well on its way too…

I’m glad the governor has made this decision. It will be interesting to follow what happens. But, I thought that Nevada was your favorite state! ;)
