If you want to help save a life, take a look at these children who have serious heart defects. Surgeries like these cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, but Israeli doctors are donating their skills to operate on the hearts of these Iraqi kids. But there are still some costs of transportation, housing, and hospital expenses. You can give directly online and then track the progress of the child at the website. My family came to love the work of Shevet Achim through one of their staff, Philip Berg, who passed away earlier this year. Maybe there’s something you can do without to help save a child today.
Shevet Achim seems like an amazing organization! I want to work for them after reading a couple of the blogs of the little girls who just recieved heart transplants. What a cool way to spend your life–I admire the Israeli doctors and others involved in this counter-cultural venture. I would love for this to hit the news in the Mid East and here in the US!
This endeavor strikes me as being Christlike in that it is all about helping hurting people–both physically and spiritually. Sounds like someone else who lived in Israel a number of years ago…
Thanks for the link, Todd.
very cool
Thanks Todd…
I appreciated you posting the Shevet Achim website. It’s funny that I hold on to my money so tightly, yet it’s all His money and I am commanded to love others! Here is a great way to love a child and honor my Savior.
God go with you.
Matt
