Here’s a funny video at the Onion (2.5 min).
I watched the Charlie Gibson interview with Sarah Palin on Friday night. I’m guessing they chose Gibson because 1) when the liberal media was slammed at the Republican Convention, everyone started chanting “NBC” and 2) CBS is the party of Dan Rather. But Gibson sure showed the world that he is a jerk. A more erudite critique of his journalistic practices is here.
I don’t know if anyone likes to shop for electronics on the internet, but I need a projector remote for my Sunday School class. I found it for $89 at The Projector Pros, but that strikes me as outrageously high for a little piece of plastic with buttons. The projector is a Mitsubishi XD500.
Some months ago I had a few minutes and made a little slideshow with some of my favorite pictures for BiblePlaces. For reasons I no longer remember, I decided I didn’t like something about the program. It probably would not be hard to make something like this I could use if I knew the right program. But for now, it’s a complete stall, so rather than burying it completely, I’ll let you look at the pics if you’re interested.
Today was Isaiah. Tomorrow is 2 Corinthians.
Of course, if FOX had their own Nightly News, Morning News, or News Magazine — the interview would have been on FOX.
I think the media is being too pointed with Palin. Furthermore, I’m getting a bad taste in my mouth when these “Muslim faith” slip-ups keep happening. If he has lied about it, there is ZERO chance I would even consider voting for him. Blatant dishonesty is automatic disqualification in my book.
Todd, Picasa3 (a free google product) has a great slideshow/film clip feature that will pan and tilt your photos and even let you add a song in the background. It’s super easy to use.
I challenge anyone who says Israel is ugly. And I’d point them to your blog to prove them otherwise! :)
Ross – thanks for the tip. There may be no program that has saved me more time than Picasa (searching through a large database of photos), but I hadn’t yet upgraded to version 3. Thanks for letting me know.
Hi Todd,
You mentioned Isaiah. I just finished reading it also. I’m taking a class on the Prophets and Gospels from Carl Laney. I was wondering (and Carl also) if the conduit of the Upper Pool on the road to the Washerman’s field in Isa. 36:2 is referring to Hezekiah’s tunnel. I know you would be the person to go to for the answer or at least offer an opinion on the matter.
Thanks.
Blessings, shalom, and shanah tovah!
Shireen
(PS – I’m celebrating rosh haShanah this year by inviting friends over to make challah bread. This time of year I am always reminded of my semester in Israel.)
Shireen – no one knows. It’s possible that it’s the Upper Pool of Siloam, a pool near Gihon spring, or a pool on the north end of town. I tend to favor the last, but no one knows.
Shanah tova!
