Passport Control

By | October 16, 2006

I lecture for six hours today, and so I’m stealing a post from my friend Josh.   This video is in Hebrew, but you’ll understand it anyway.   The gist of the conversation is that the guy coming into Israel doesn’t look like the photo in his passport.

    That video was interesting…hmmmm…
I hope your voice holds up…I remember when you had to drink a ton of tea in Archaeology, trying to get your voice back…

That was funny, Todd! I didn’t have quite the same experience when I came to Israel, but they did ask me why I had the wrong passport! They asked me for my Israeli one. I love my name!

    Todd,

That’s the best post yet. I have to say I did get a few funny looks from the people around me in the library when I was laughing out loud as I was watching the clip.

Well, passport control did give me a hard time when I returned to Israel from Egypt. This was near the end of the semester, when my initial 90 Day Visa was about to expire (though it didn’t matter, since I had already stamped in/out when I went to Jordan). The agent thought I was trying to circumvent the 90 days by going to neighbor states. I told them I was leaving in about two weeks or so. I figured they would stamp me with the 14-day variety (which would have worked). I was given a 90-day stamp again. If I had the extra money I would have stuck around a bit longer.
