As we leave for the Negev…
I am again so impressed with the thinking of this young man…
A former IBEXer, Cindy (Burnham) Waldeck (S97) and husband Dan have lost their 7-year-old daughter. Pray for them. These must be very hard days, no matter what.
Our whole family is going on a four-day trip with the students to the Negev. It’s become a three-year tradition. Luke just turned 9; the last time he went, he climbed Masada.
Enjoy your trip Todd. The memories flood back about our wonderful trip to the Negev and how much we miss being there. Lord willing, we will be a part of the GMI group that will be there in summer of 2008.
The Waldecks are family friends of mine– I was in 2nd grade when Daniel graduated from high school, but his parents mentored mine. I was able to go to Logan’s service on the 10th. It was the most profound worship experience I have had in a very long time. Never before have I felt and seen such palpable hope as they displayed! It is truly amazing to see God at work. They, and so many others, grieve; they love and miss their daughter… but Danny was so strong. He positively preached the Gospel, and God is already using Logan’s death tremendously. Everyone I talked to was so encouraged, fortified in their faith, strengthened to press on. It was phenomenal.
