Christians think they have to be push-overs in order to get heard. Sometimes I think it’s harder to be like Doug Pagitt, always catering, compromising, negotiating the things he says in order to make himself relevant. But really, people just want the straight dope. May we all have the courage to communicate the truth in simple terms.

I read this on your blog and found the video of the interview on YouTube. Someone added to it a sound bite from after the interview where Doug Pagitt is talking to the camera women. Long story short, he basically laughs at the fact that anyone would go to the bible for comfort.
