{"id":139,"date":"2005-09-28T21:21:00","date_gmt":"2005-09-29T04:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/toddbolen.com\/?p=139"},"modified":"2005-09-28T21:21:00","modified_gmt":"2005-09-29T04:21:00","slug":"im-a-rock-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toddbolen.com\/blog\/2005\/09\/28\/im-a-rock-star\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#039;m a Rock Star"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, maybe not, but I can now claim the dubious distinction of having my name cut into someone&#8217;s hair.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleplaces.com\/blog\/uploaded_images\/DSC_9461-762628.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bibleplaces.com\/blog\/uploaded_images\/DSC_9461-760904.JPG\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI did not initiate, motivate, or encourage such behavior.  I only found out after the deed was done.<\/p>\n<p>Today was the Shephelah trip and it went well. In addition to a number of &#8220;regular&#8221; sites, we got out to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleplaces.com\/gath.htm\">Gath<\/a> before the sun went down. They have made progress in the excavations there, though I didn&#8217;t have enough time or light to see it all. I did visit the &#8220;moat of Hazael&#8221; and adjacent building (described <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleinterp.com\/excavations\/Gath_Archaeological_2004.htm\">here<\/a>), though I wasn&#8217;t as impressed as I had hoped. I had seen the moat before and there was no change to that.<\/p>\n<p>I also found the Middle Bronze gate that was excavated <a href=\"https:\/\/listhost.uchicago.edu\/pipermail\/ane\/2005-August\/019299.html\">this summer<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleplaces.com\/bethshemesh.htm\">Beth Shemesh<\/a>. The stone foundation of the gate is clear and well-preserved. The style is exactly like that of the gates at Shechem, Hazor, Gezer, etc. It was good review for my students, who will see a question about it on the Archaeology mid-term in the morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, maybe not, but I can now claim the dubious distinction of having my name cut into someone&#8217;s hair.
