15 Years

By | August 8, 2007

Fifteen years ago today a couple of young kids stood in front of a church and promised love until death.  Today we are celebrating that commitment and God’s faithfulness.  This morning we went to the Dallas Arboretum.  Tonight we’ll eat something you can’t get in Israel: a good steak.

You and your wife were an excellent example to me while I was in Israel (being engaged at the time). Thank you, and congratulations!
    “Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
    Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

    Todd and Kelli,

Congratulations! Make me jealous: Where did you get a good steak?

Colleen and I celebrated 8 years the day before you. However, we didn’t have a good or bad steak, we ate at the Mandarin Chineese Restaurant downtown. A bad steak might have been better. :-)

Thanks to all for the kind comments.

Craig – Texas Land & Cattle. It was very good. Certainly better than the best Chinese food.

My first thought was–Todd can’t possibly be that old! But maybe I’m guilty of reading “a couple of young kids” in the spiritual sense rather than a literal one! Anyway, congratulations, & I hope you 2 had a terrific day!

P.S. Shocked to hear about Israeli steak! Can’t help but wonder how bad the burnt offerings were back in ancient times…

    Todd,

I remember, at least during my semester, there was a place in Abu Gosh that served up a halfway decent steak. The place was only my some Arab immigrants from Chicago. Actually, it was one of the better steaks I’ve had.

Still, I don’t think much will beat a Texas steak. Just remember to order it medium rare or they will laugh at you there. Fine by me, since I love my steak on the rarer side.

Todd, I remember you mentioning at our leaders dinner at the Black Steer how much you were looking forward to Texas steakhouses. It’s good to hear you’re enjoying them now! Congratulations to you and Kelli!
