Regarding Win 8 and iOS, the move away from the “files and folders” paradigm is (going to be) extremely obnoxious. For those who create files and manage them, I do not see how we can completely do away with it.
Linux. It’s gotten much more user friendly in the last 5 years and for someone with your level of computer knowledge I think you’d love it. Once you got used to it I think you’d wonder what took you so long to try it.
As Todd’s link led to my first exposure to Windows 8, my reaction was one of figuratively vomiting. This world is indeed coming to an end. During a bike ride today, everywhere I went there was someone (I’m restraining myself from using a more specific term) standing, walking, even driving a car with their head pointed downward as they fiddled with their mobile device. Even at a nature preserve park, established to help people think about and enjoy something other than concrete, plastic, & metal, a woman was standing on the dirt path, head down, device in hand.
Todd, that book by Dr. Frazier looks great! I bet it will be a fascinating read.
